Viwoods officially announced the launch of the AiPaper Reader Series. This new line of e-reading devices focused on integrating AI into the reading experience. The company stated the series is built around the concept: “Read Better, Be Better.”
The AiPaper Reader is designed for portability. Viwoods confirmed the device features an Ultra-Slim Body measuring 6.7mm and weighs 138 g. The company claims that this sets a new standard for lightness in its class.
A central feature of the AiPaper Reader is the proprietary One-tap Ask AI. This functionality enables users to execute instant actions—specifically, query, summarize, or cross-reference digital content—directly from the text. Viwoods markets this as a shift toward “active learning.”
The device incorporates features for structured note-taking and knowledge retention:
Seamless AI Integration: AI-generated answers can be saved directly to a dedicated Personal Knowledge Base with a single tap.
Picking Feature: Users can utilize an intuitive Picking function to capture and file away specific passages or quotes from the text they are reading.
The Personal Knowledge Base is intended to allow users to retrieve and revisit these insights quickly.
The AiPaper Reader includes an option for built-in 4G connectivity. Users can download content and utilize the AI functionality without requiring Wi-Fi access.
Viwoods also announced the AiPaper Reader C, its first color E Ink device. This model utilizes the latest E Ink Kaleido 3 screen technology to provide a color display in an e-ink format.
The devices will be available to purchase from November 10th.
